Linda Wright

 August 29. 1956 – May 16, 2021

Linda R. Wright went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 16th. She went peacefully in the presence of family and friends after battling illness for several years. She was the bravest woman most of us have ever known. While wheelchair bound with MS she still managed to complete 100 miles of swimming at the YMCA in Papillion to earn her challenge shirt and certificate. Because of the MS she did it entirely using just her arms. It took her two years, but she persisted. She had a special place in her heart for others who were in need. She worked many years with people with special needs and taught at the Nebraska School for the Deaf until it closed. After that she started a new program at Boys Town for students who were not quite ready for the main campus due to behaviors and other issues. Her education included a BA in Psychology from the University of Arizona, a BA in elementary education from Peru State College and a Masters in Special Education from UNO. She is survived by her husband, Jay after 45 years of marriage; sons: Harold J. Wright Jr. and Ronald J Wright, daughter in law Karen Wright, two grandsons, Vincent J. Wright and Anthony V. Wright; sister Cynthia A. King; Mother, Patricia J. Jennings and step father Donald Jennings. She is at rest with the Lord where we will all see her again one day.

Celebration of her life will be Saturday, May 22, 2021, 10:00 AM at Marshall Drive Baptist Church, 4845 Marshall Drive, Omaha, NE 68137. There will also be a viewing with family Friday evening from 6 to 8PM in the Kahler-Dolce Funeral Home, 441 North Washington Street, Papillion, NE.
