Ronnie Gene Vasey 

November 30, 1943—May 12, 2023

 

Ronnie Vasey from Maxwell, Iowa was killed in an automobile accident on highway 65 south of Collins. He was 79 years old.

Ronnie was born in Maxwell. He lost his hearing as an infant to what they called Scarlet Fever. He went to school in Council Bluffs at the Iowa School for the deaf and graduated fr0om high school there in 1963. Ronnie never married. For several years he lived with his mother and provided transportation for her whenever and wherever she wanted to go. Ronnie was a “giver” to a fault, from buying several rounds of beer for everyone in the tavern to family Christmas gifts. Even when he didn’t have much discretionary money he continued to give. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Ronnie is survived by two brothers: Fred Vasey of Harrisburg, MO, and Larry Vasey of Maxwell, IA, his sister: JoAnn (Ron) Gander of Maxwell, IA.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents: Maurice and Maude (Thompson) Vasey; two brothers: Maurice Vasey and Darrell “Dean” Vasey.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Maxwell (422 1st Street).
