Emery Patrick Surber

August 10, 1974--September 29, 2019

Emery Patrick Surber, 45, of Ottumwa, died at 5:17 p.m. September 29, 2019 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.

He was born August 10, 1974 in Iowa City. He married Elizabeth Sakowski on July 31, 2013.
A 1993 graduate of the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs, Emery had worked for Burger King in FL, owned and operated Surber Sod Groomers, and drove for Ottumwa Cab.

Emery enjoyed golfing, disc golf, camping, fishing with his cousin Butch, watching NASCAR and his favorite driver, Chase Elliott, riding his Harley, and was an Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Emery is survived by his wife, Elizabeth and their fur babies; his mother Mary Jane King; sister Emma (Keith) Nanney; two brothers James (Connie) Seamens, and Robert (Patricia) Seamans; nieces and nephew Megan (Karl) Williams, Dakoda (Nichole) Weston, and Lydia (Kegan) Williams.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anita and Berl Proctor, and Clyde and Emma Surber, Sr.

His body has been cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
