Eileen (EJ) Johnson Royce

June 16, 1948--February 26, 2018

Eileen June (EJ) Johnson Royce peacefully drew her last breaths while surrounded by family on Monday, February 26, 2018 at her home in Provo, Utah after struggling with a recurrence of ovarian cancer.

Born June 16, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa she is preceded in death by her beloved husband and eternal companion Herbert Donald Royce, her parents Harvey and Leona Johnson as well as her siblings LaVerne, Bonnie, Jan, John, Judy and Phyllis. She is survived by her children Toby Royce, Deanna Rainey, Gerberta Black (Allen) and Chip Royce (Becky) as well as 20 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Mom was a lovingly dedicated and passionately independent woman who loved sunflowers, Dr. Pepper, Taco Bell and sharing a smile and laughter with anyone she met. She enjoyed her service as an employee and volunteer at the Sanderson Community Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She was a skilled seamstress, the best baker of chocolate chip walnut cookies, had the most creative culinary skills, loved watching “her stories” (soap operas) and game shows.

Funeral services for Mom was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Provo West Stake Center, 2530 West 200 South, Provo, Utah. arch 2, from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to services.
