Lennis E. Mitts, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; children, Dawn (Mike) Robinson of Palo, Marcus (Faith) Mitts of Cedar Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Tristan, Jaxon, Kinnick, Aiden & Brylee; brothers, Larry (Nancy) Steggs of Alliance, NE, Stephen Steggs of Alliance, NE; Lonnie (Christine) Steggs of Lincoln, NE; sister, Tammie (Troy) Dubs of Ashby, NE; sister-in-law, Susie Steggs of Parker, CO; her furbabies, Mia, Dante & Moose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James Steggs and sister-in-law, Patricia Steggs.

Lennis Elaine Steggs was born February 8, 1951, in Alliance, NE, the daughter of Harold and Idelle (Dorshorst) Steggs. On August 18, 1979, she married Charles Mitts in Clermont, IA. She graduated from the Nebraska School for the Deaf in 1969. She was on the board for the Cedar Rapids Association of the Deaf and was very active in the deaf community.  She also was involved in the Iowa Association of the Deaf including being Vice-President of the IAD for 3 terms (2011-2017).  Lennis will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
