Marjorie J. Hannah

March 24, 1919--May 6, 2019

Marjorie J. Hannah, age 100, of Council Bluffs, passed away May 6, 2019, at Bethany Lutheran Home.

Marjorie was born March 24, 1919, in Council Bluffs to the late Alfred Roe and Alma M. (Schultz) Millard. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1936. Marjorie married Donald C. Hannah on June 9, 1946. They were blessed with a daughter, Mary Jane Hannah. Marjorie worked at Iowa School for the Deaf for 14 years, Farm Bureau Service, and Jennie Edmundson Hospital. She retired from Abraham Lincoln High School. Marjorie was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, Brownie and 4-H club leader (Katering Kanettes). Her interests have always been community service, friends and family. Marjorie loved her cat, gardening, art and watching old movies.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Donald C. Hannah in 1997.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Mary J. (David) King; grandchildren, Roger Groth, Anna (Cameron) DeVries; great-grandchildren, CJ and Roger DeVries, Donavan Charis; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation with the family and funeral service were held on Monday, May 13, 2019, at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Interment was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery with a lunch following, at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce St.  Memorials are suggested to the Midlands Humane Society or Iowa School for the Deaf.
